Content Management Systeem (CMS)

Mod4U® provides you with the possibility to administer the content of a website. Also this website is constructed in this way. The CMS allows you to add meta tags en descriptions to generated pages and to automatically generate a Google compatible sitemap.

Within the Mod4U® CMS a hierarchy exists with the following characteristics:

  • From the manager you can go to the maintenance of pages.
  • There you will see a list of available pages. A existing page can be copied, to create a new page based on a existing page in a fast and easy way. From there you can go to the details of a page.
  • In the page details, the following information is available: Menu name, title, filename and - for bots - key words and a meta description. In case you enter a file name - applicable for cached HTML pages - you can also choose the update frequency for the sitemap. Underneath this general information, page versions are shown.
  • A version of a page can be copied, to create a new version based on a existing version.
  • In the details of a version, remarks regarding this specific version can be edited. A version can be marked as active, with the purpose to have a certain version active and in the meanwhile work on a newer version. This new version will only be visible to users after it has been marked active. This feature also enables you to view older versions of a page. At the bottom of this page is a list with components which are used in the page version.
  • When you add or edit a component, you first need to indicate the component type. This can be: Horizontal menu, vertical menu, HTML block, news ticker, FAQ, interesting links, poll, or a earlier defined component. Depending on the choosen type, a description or listbox will be visible. You can also enter the positioning of the component on the page in terms of X / Y position (or better beter: top en left), width and height. In case no number is entered, default positioning will be applied.
The content of a menu is edited using the menu manager. For the maintance of news ticker, FAQ, interesting links and poll are seperate menu options. If HTML is choosen, a online editor appear, in which the content of a page can be written in a user friendly way.
